What an All-Inclusive in Cancun’s Hotel Zone Actually Gets You

Nashville hotels are my usual beat, but this one was too good not to write up. Grand Park Royal Cancun sits right on the beach in the heart of the Hotel Zone, and it’s the kind of all-inclusive that actually earns the label instead of just checking the box.

The stay
The resort sits on Boulevard Kukulcan at Km 10.5, on a private stretch of beach on the Caribbean side, about 30 minutes from the airport. It’s a bigger property, 311 rooms plus 33 villas, and every room comes with a sea view, balcony, and mini-bar. Two pools, a spa, gym, and yoga studio round it out, so there’s enough here that you don’t have to leave the property if you don’t want to.

The food situation
This is where all-inclusive resorts usually let you down, and this one didn’t. Four restaurants on-site: El Mirador for Italian, Cocay for an international buffet, Flor de Sal for seafood and a Mexican dinner menu, and Koi for oriental cuisine. Enough variety that you’re not eating the same three things on a loop for a week.
